Airdrop hunters often navigate a complex landscape to secure rewards.
To address this, we developed "Contract Deployment and Interaction", a new tool that moves users beyond passive score-checking.
As the sole product designer, I guided this project from concept to launch, empowering users with an actionable strategy.
This project was vital for transforming our platform into a comprehensive, end-to-end solution. In the following sections, I'll showcase how this work improved user engagement and drove profit for the platform.

Problem

Airdrop hunters could check their potential score, but they lacked an actionable next step to improve it. The required actions often demanded a technical background, representing a significant missed opportunity

Solution

To solve this, we developed 'Contract Deployment and Interaction'. The tool simplifies complex actions, empowering users to actively boost their chances of a bigger airdrop without needing technical expertise.

Design: From manual contract chaos to effortless deployment

The final design focused on clarity and ease of use, making a complex task accessible to everyone. The interface was crafted to simplify smart contract deployment and introduce monetisation, all while using clear step-by-step guidance and gamification elements. This approach empowered users to take control of their airdrop strategy without needing a technical background

Gathering user insights with Maze

To validate the designs, I conducted an A/B test on Maze with two different layouts. I used a questionnaire to screen for our target audience and analyzed heatmaps to see which layout drove the desired action. Follow-up questions helped clarify their understanding, providing key insights for our final decision.

Therefore if the intention of this page is to primarily steer users to deploying their own contract, Variant B would be better.
However, if we wanted users to better understand all of the features, Variant A would be better.

Final design

We decided that we want to have a better understanding of all the features, instead of steering users to just deploy a contract.

From Passive Users to 301k Active Participants

The launch of this feature had a direct and measurable impact on our key business objectives. The design work significantly boosted user engagement and product adoption, with over 301k users actively using the new tool.
This not only drove a clear business value by converting passive users into active participants on the platform but also created a new revenue stream through a fee on each contract deployment.

Learnings

  • Finding the sweet spot where user needs and business goals overlap, proving that a user-centric design could also generate new revenue.

  • Early user testing with prototypes was vital for making data-driven decisions and avoiding costly changes later on.

  • Transforming complex, technical steps into a simple, intuitive flow had a direct and significant impact on user adoption.
